Reasons for Honicon

Your tool decision is
too important for gut feeling

Wrong decisions when choosing a project management tool cost months and six-figure sums. A structured Proof of Concept delivers facts instead of assumptions.

End vendor lock-in
Rising license costs, forced cloud migration, data outside your control. Plane gives you back your data sovereignty – on your infrastructure, in your data center.
Risk-free evaluation
No months of trial and error. No investment in a tool that doesn’t end up fitting. Our structured PoC delivers a sound basis for decision-making in four weeks.
GDPR & compliance
Your project data belongs to you – not in a US cloud. Plane can run entirely on German infrastructure. Air-gapped operation possible for regulated industries.
Modern alternative
Plane unifies tasks, sprints, documentation, intake, and AI in one platform. No plugin chaos, no workarounds. A tool teams love instead of tolerate.

We get to know your situation, define the success criteria together, and plan the PoC precisely around your requirements and your infrastructure.

3–5 days

2) Setup & installation

Plane is installed on your infrastructure – production-ready, secure, with TLS encryption and authentication. We set everything up, you keep control.

2 days

3) Configuration

Workflows, projects, roles, and permissions – all aligned with how you work. Including a pilot project and sample data so your team can hit the ground running.

4) Your test phase

Your team works with Plane under real-world conditions. We’re at your side for any questions – on demand, without intrusive hand-holding.

1–2 days

5) Outcome & recommendation

Joint review with a clear traffic-light assessment of your criteria. You receive an honest recommendation – and, if the outcome is positive, a concrete plan for the next step.

Plane Proof of Concept FAQ
What exactly is Plane?
Plane is a modern, AI-native project management platform and a powerful alternative to Jira, Linear, Asana, Monday.com, or ClickUp. Plane can be fully self-hosted – including air-gapped operation in isolated network environments. More than 50,000 teams worldwide already rely on Plane.
How long does the Proof of Concept take?
The entire PoC is designed to run for around four weeks. In that time, you go through all phases – from the joint scoping workshop to the results presentation with a clear recommended course of action.
What happens after a successful PoC?
If the outcome is positive, nothing stands in the way of going into production. Honicon offers managed hosting on German infrastructure, complete migration from existing systems, end-user training, and ongoing operations.
Can data be imported from our existing tool?
Yes. Plane supports imports from Jira, Linear, Asana, ClickUp, Monday.com, Confluence, and Notion. As part of the PoC we run a sample import to validate feasibility and data quality for your specific scenario.
Do we need our own servers?
A Proof of Concept with Plane running productively in the cloud doesn’t require a server of your own. Self-hosted, you’ll need a VM or server (from 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 50 GB SSD). Alternatively, an existing Kubernetes environment can be used. In the initial consultation we’ll clarify the technical prerequisites together and discuss which is the right solution for you.
What does the Proof of Concept cost?
The price depends on your individual situation – infrastructure complexity, the evaluation criteria you want covered, and the level of guidance involved. In the free initial consultation we define the scope and put together a transparent quote for you.
What sets Honicon apart from other providers?
Honicon is the first official Plane partner in Europe. We operate our own infrastructure in Germany, are Atlassian-certified, and know both the Jira world and Plane from daily hands-on practice. You get a contact person with a name – not an anonymous support chat.
